Burled Walnut

Burled Walnut is an exquisite wood, traditionally considered to be the most beautiful and prestigious of woods. This precious veneer, is sliced from the “burl” portion of the tree, where extreme irregularities in grain pattern and direction cause distinctive swirling lines and tight circular patterns called “burls” to form. For this reason, no two dash sets are the same in either color or grain pattern.

Burled Walnut is typically medium to dark brown in color with contrasting areas between the dark lines ranging from a light tan to a rusty color. Because it is subtle and elegant, Burled Walnut is the most popular choice for luxury automobiles and compliments virtually all automotive interiors.

Please Note: Grain patterns and colors vary dramatically across the natural wood, especially in the “burled” woods - this picture is to give you a “general” grain / color reference ONLY.

Depending on the shape of the parts which affects veneering capability,

other veneer choices are available at an additional cost.    See Pictures with  Asterisks **  below.

Carpathian Elm Burl                                     Back To Top
Carpathian Elm Burl

Carpathian Elm Burl is an exquisite wood, both gorgeous and elegant, but not as subtle as Burled Walnut. This precious veneer, is sliced from the “burl” portion of the tree, where extreme irregularities in grain pattern and direction cause distinctive swirling lines and tight circular patterns called “burls” to form. For this reason, no two dash sets are the same in either color or grain pattern. Carpathian Elm Burl is typically an orangish-red / strawberry-blonde color with contrasting areas between the dark lines, ranging from burnt tans to hints of caramel. This combination is sporty and would definitely “liven up” a dull, dark interior.

Please Note: Grain patterns and colors vary dramatically across the natural wood, especially in the “burled” woods - this picture is to give you a “general” grain / color reference ONLY.

Figured Grain Walnut                                   Back To Top

Figured Walnut

Figured Grain Walnut is a beautiful wood, traditionally used in many European sports cars.  This veneer, typically a medium brown in color, is sliced from the “trunk” portion of the Walnut tree.  Figured Grain Walnut is selected for its “figured” grain pattern of light and medium brown lines. For this reason, no two dash sets are the same. (If your original dash came with this wood in it, it has probably faded, and changed to a rusty color).

Please Note: Grain patterns and colors vary dramatically across the natural wood - this picture is to give you a “general” grain / color reference ONLY.

Depending on the shape of the parts which affects veneering capability,

other veneer choices are available at an additional cost.  See Pictures with  Asterisks **  below.

** Zebrano                                                   Back To Top

Zebrano is one of the most stunning of the "striped" woods.  These stripes range in color from blondes and tans to light and dark chocolate browns.  It is gorgeous for over all veneering and provides a very unique contrast when used in applications where a crossbanding is required.

However, due to the lineal grain structure, this veneer has limited applications and is best suited for flat or gently curved parts.

** Birdseye Maple                                         Back To Top

Birdseye Maple is a gorgeous wood, generally blonde in color with "Birdseyes" that range in size from small to large.  These "Birdseyes" are dispursed in random patterns thru out and tight clusters of them are often visible.  The grain pattern is lineal, with tan / light brown lines and gentle waves.

Birdseye Maple can be left its' natural color or can be stained a variety of colors.

However, due to the lineal grain structure, this veneer has limited applications and is best suited for flat or gently curved parts.

** Macasar Ebony                                         Back To Top

Macasar Ebony is also one of the most stunning of the "striped" woods.  These stripes range in color from blondes and tans to dark browns, almost black.  It is gorgeous for over all veneering.  However, due to the lineal grain structure, this veneer has limited applications and is best suited for flat or gently curved parts.

** Madrone Burl                                             Back To Top

Madrone Burl is absolutely gorgeous.  It is pastel red in color with tight clusters of burl patterns wrapped in wavy lines.  Pictured is a tight cluster.  Due to its' color, it is best left unstained.  Staining to other colors can be done but options are limited.
